Our rehearsal dinner was such a fun event! We wanted to keep it simple and as convenient to our guests as possible, so we had it in the conference room of their hotel. That meant we couldn't hang certain things or take down ugly pictures, but we made it work. Plus, the hotel have us the space, tables, chairs, and linens for free.
We went with a white, silver, and peach color scheme and repurposed some of the wedding decor for the rehearsal dinner. The lanterns were to line the aisle the next day and the mirror centerpieces were for the reception. We personalized the decor with pictures of the Bride and Groom at each table at different ages. It was a great way to get people up and moving around too because they wanted to see all of the photos. We also provided favors: a little bag of personalized Hershey kisses.
The evening included dinner, a serve yourself open bar including wine, beer, and a variety of liquors, a video of the bride and groom, and the couple distributing gifts to parents and wedding party members.
The meal was catered by Carrabbas. We took meal selections weeks in advance, so I posted a "What Did I Order" sign at the front of the buffet line. Many guests said they appreciated that touch because they couldn't remember what they requested. The cake was from CakesnBy Cyndi in Springfield, SC, a hometown favorite of the groom's. The cookies were by a friend of the bride, The Mad Cookier in Tallahassee, FL.
